"MELISSA" is a Legal Entity of Private Law that was founded in 1921 by decision of the Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki. It began its operation as a Home for the Care and Welfare of Orphans and Destitute Children. It is supervised by the Social Welfare Directorate of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and is subsidized by a small percentage by the Ministry of Health & Social Solidarity through the Region of Central Macedonia. Today, the MELISSA Foundation hosts girls aged 13 to 18, who are removed from an inappropriate family environment by a prosecutor's order and reside with a court decision, which usually assigns custody to it. A few words about Delirium from psychologist-psychotherapist MSc Mrs. Zoe Georgiadou:
"Delirium or acute organic psychosyndrome comes from the Latin word delirare, which means to go astray, to escape from my course and from the real perception of things. It is an acute disorder at the level of consciousness and cognitive functions whose onset is rapid and presents fluctuations during the day. It is characterized by confusion, fluctuations in alertness, disorientation, hallucinations or delusions. It is a subjective experience, which is formed and expressed in a unique way reflecting the person's altered experience of the external environment. According to the American Psychological Association (APA, 2013), it is a delusion, a false belief that does not correspond to reality, which a person possesses unwavering and unable to change, despite conflicting evidence and arguments."

Natasa Govedarou, visual artist, curator and owner of Govedarou Art Gallery, is organizing the solo exhibition of visual artist Stavros Kouimtzis entitled “Scattered Entities” at the gallery space at G. Papandreou 5. The opening will take place on Tuesday, February 11 and will last until February 28.
“Scattered Entities” through the eyes of Stavros Kouimtzis:
“The eternal existence of man on earth with the aim of survival, development, projection, conquest. Persons and personalities alternate in the same distinct roles in the course of history. Power, imposition, submission determine and shape the social pyramid that sometimes sharpens and sometimes softens depending on the times and places.”
A few words from the curator of the exhibition, Natasa Govedarou, about this exhibition:
"The exhibition will take you to other worlds, it will convey allegorical messages and you will feel emotions never seen before through the visual approach of Stavros Kouimtzis! The artist transports us to his own dream world where the entities that inhabit it are literally scattered. Faces without bodies that look more like masks, often interconnected with colorful paths of geometric shapes, sometimes in larger dimensions and sometimes in repeating patterns with incredible detail, characterize most of the artist's major works. The trees, which could also be an inspiration for a science fiction film director, are also indicative of his work. The objects themselves, as well as the background that frames them, are the product of great detail with patterns reminiscent of fractals and require long hours of work and patience from their creator. All eerie!”
